Words: Kerrang (U.K)
'skulks, struts and smoulders, boasting garage rock grooves with a sense of melodrama. A crotch-led, low slung, predatory sizzler.'
Rocksound (U.K)
'a ballsy no-nonsense trash and roll act who ooze plenty of x-factor'
'.....grandiose attitude and self-belief. Calling on the Wildhearts spirit, Thearapy's brooding intensity and Three Colours Red's pop appeal'
Metal Hammer (U.K)
stepping into Wildhearts territory bursting with rock & roll tunes, and they certainly have the sound of a band that is definitely going places and are guaranteed to piss off every right thinking citizen.'
classic rock (u.k)
Brit bands can do sleaze.Turning heads with favourable Wildhearts comparisons and attitude to spare, this Essex quartet are definitely worth investigating
It’s hard for any English band to carry off sleaze rock, but with the chops to match titles such as 21st Century Bitch and Dress Code Violence, Zen Motel are convincing and committed.
This album is some achievement.
ORGAN (U.K)
rebelling against whatever you've got - it's not that the Essex four piece are radically different, it's just that they understand the why, where and how. They understand precisely why god gave us AC/DC, Ted Nugent and Jack Daniels, they know about riffs, they know how to use guitars properly, they know how to make their music snarl... THEY ROCK! No time for nu metal cleverness, no time to do anything but strip it down and fire it straight at you - a low-slung anti-social rock & roll breath of fresh air.
BBC radio (U.K)
'...have and come up with what has to be one of the freshest, out-and-out rock'n'roll albums for years which deserves to be huge. Its an old cliche, but if they were American....'
HMV (U.K)
'A truly Mammoth album that takes no prisoners.Awesome stuff'
Long Gone Loser (Australia)
'Great songs, cool riffs and a style of rock only the U.K can produce.File next to The Wildhearts and Led Zeppelin'
Essex Chronicle (U.K)
'An outstanding slice of infectious rock just begging to be played loudly and proudly over and over again'
No Respect (Italy)
'The most convincing band from the U.K underground scene. A really fresh, intelligent and original record high in quality songwriting and rich in talent'
Vegam (France)
Zen Motel play the kind of expletive innuendo laden sex 'n' drugs fuelled by rock 'n' roll your mother wouldn't approve of. But the real appeal of this release is the diversity of styles and ideas on display which'll keep you interested until the last note'
